Construction of a new spray tower in record time at DP Supply

endeco realizes the new construction of a spraying tower at DP Supply GmbH in Beesten (GER) in record time.

At the beginning of 2018, the budget for the realization of the new spray tower was released.

However, after the preliminary planning had already been completed, the concept had to be changed fundamentally. In addition to pea protein also fat-enriched foods based on milk protein, sugar and skim milk and basic powders for the IFT sector were to be produced.

The existing spray tower had to be completely removed from the building, which was to be used for the plant peripherals, the building had to be refurbished and the new plant components integrated.

In parallel, even before the shutdown of the old production plant, a new building for the tower chamber, the cyclones, the exhaust air filter, the fluidized bed and the filling technology was built in reinforced concrete, and the new plant components were welded in the inner courtyard.

During the detail engineering, several hurdles had to be overcome with regard to the space requirements of the machine and plant components, the permissible overall construction heights and the conditions in approval procedures. Already in March/April 2018, the tenders for the machinery and plant trades were sent out.

In June 2018, the order for the spray tower was placed with the company Lübbers Anlagen- und Umwelttechnik GmbH. Due to the very tight schedule with regard to the commissioning in October 2019, the detailed engineering was advanced together and in very close coordination with all companies involved in the project, a tight installation schedule was prepared and the commissioning was coordinated. In parallel, the existing wet mixing area was redesigned, refurbished, modernized and expanded. Pneumatic conveying systems and part of the filling and product feeding technology were also renewed.

Particularly noteworthy is the cooperation with the project team of the customer DP Supply, which was available with expertise and contributed significantly to the success of the project through its decisiveness.

The commissioning of the spray tower took place with a delay of only 14 days on the basis of the schedule drawn up in March 2018. The project was realized with a total project time of 22 months from budget approval to commercial production of the first spray product.
